The Fish Activity score is a daily rating that shows how likely fish are to be active in your chosen area. The score is generated by our algorithm, which analyzes several key factors:
- Solunar data (e.g. moon phase, moonrise/moonset, sunrise/sunset times)
- Tidal movements
- Other factors
How to read Fish Activity forecast
When you open the Fish Activity section in the app, you'll see:
- A numerical score for the current day
- Stars in calendar view indicating fish activity levels (★★★ = Very high fish activity; ★★ = Average fish activity; ★ = Low fish activity)
- Major and Minor times highlighted for peak fishing periods during the day
Planning fishing trips with the Fish Activity forecast
With a Fishing Points Premium subscription, you can view fish activity forecast for 3 months in advance. To use this for planning:
- Check the daily Fish Activity score (overview for the whole month is available in calendar)
- Note which days show higher fish activity levels (compare scores across several days to pick the prime fishing day)
- Pay attention to the Major and Minor times when planning at what time to start fishing
While the Fish Activity forecast can't guarantee catches, many users find it extremely helpful for planning more productive fishing trips. Use it alongside your knowledge of local fishing conditions to improve your chances of catch.
