A reliable compass is essential for safe and accurate sea navigation. This article explains how to access and calibrate the compass feature (Android only), and how to troubleshoot it.
How to access & calibrate the Compass feature (Android only)
1. Tap the cardinal directions at the top of your main map screen
2. Compass screen opens up
3. Tap the “?” symbol in your top-right
4. Choose “Calibrate”
5. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Compass orientation
- The compass appears at the top of your map screen, alongside Course Over Ground (COG) and Heading information.
- It shows the direction you're currently facing, while the map itself stays still.
- Switch to Rotate camera mode to have the map rotate along with your heading.
Troubleshooting the compass
If the compass appears unresponsive or inaccurate, try shaking your phone gently — this often resolves calibration issues.
